Apollo, God of Medicine, Music and Charioteer of the Sun, was renown for the unfortunate fates of his lovers.

One such tale begins with a disagreement he had with Eros, God of Love. To punish Apollo for his arrogance, Eros crafted two special arrows to strike our lovers, one to entice its receiver to pursue, and the other to reject.

Daphne, nymph and daughter of the river deity Landon, was struck with the latter, and thus ran ferverently from Apollon Phoebus when he started pursuing her.In her desperation, Daphne prayed to her father for salvation, for she could never love Apollo, and Ladon aided her by transforming her into the sacred Laurel tree.
